On May 2, 2024, the Commission approved a resolution of intent to initiate dissolution with a remediation period of twelve-months to allow the district time to address the deficiencies that were highlighted in the Sacramento Grand Jury and Municipal Service Review - Addendum (approved during the same hearing).
Key Points:
- Numerous infrastructure deficiencies, financing limitations and fire flow issues were identified.
- Cost for improvements would be expensive to customers.
- Potential grants available by the State may cover some or all of the cost of the infrastructure replacement and improvements without the need of ratepayers financing those costs.
